BIO CEO & Investor Conference panel: “Exploring the Possibilities of Developing Neurodegenerative Therapeutics”

Brain diseases are the greatest contributor to the global burden of diseases and the WHO estimates that the current rate, 13% of incidences, will double by 2030. This importance has translated into almost $4 billion dollars of neuroscience partnerships in 2020, where the majority of these deals have been for neurodegenerative programs. In a field that’s seen some retrenching, there is renewed excitements due to recent developments, including FDA’s commitment to the therapeutic area in 2020 through its reorganization of the Office of New Drugs to include an Office of Neuroscience. This panel brings together investors, scientists, and companies exploring the possibilities of neurodegeneration therapies.
The BIO CEO & Investor Conference was held at the New York Marriott Marquis on February 14-15 for in-person company presentations, educational sessions, and BIO One-on-One Partnering meetings. Educational sessions were also livestreamed for virtual attendees.
